MT Robison & The Messengers: News

The Color of Music Mural - March 30, 2010

The Color of Music Mural

Note: MT Robison & The Messengers will be at the festival Sunday about 2PM for photos.

RIVERSIDE, CA- Riverside resident and mural artist Linda Shrader, will paint a Larger Than Life Mural exhibition at the Indian Wells Arts Festival scheduled for Easter Weekend, April 2, 3, & 4, 2010 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, CA.

The 10 X 32 foot mural, titled The Color Of Music, is a featured exhibition at the festival, painted start-to-finish during the 3-day festival. Three artists, Echo and Piper Robison, and Gabriella Evaro will assist Shrader.

“The mural project is a favorite of Festival attendees,” says Dianne Funk, festival producer. “People enjoy watching the large work in progress, and having their questions answered.”

Shrader is an advocate of art-in-schools and public art programs, as well as promoting art and culture as an economic engine.  Her murals embellish buildings, community centers, and many schools in Southern CA.

“My inspiration for this mural is the colorful Southern rock and dirty slide-guitar blues of MT Robison & The Messengers,” says Shrader, “When I listen to MT’s songs, the stories take me places… I see images andI tried to capture some of those images in my mural.”

MT Robison, and his band, The Messengers are also Riverside residents. They recently signed a recording contract and are currently recording their second album titled Grace, due to be released early 2011, followed by touring. MT Robison will be headlining a show at Mission Tobacco Lounge, downtown Riverside, Apr. 3, 2010.

Angel MT Robison Oil Painting - June 9, 2009

Internationally recognized artist Alexandra-G unveils “Angel MT Robison,” her newest painting in a series of earth-bound Angels.

London based, Alexandra-G, gifted artist and former runway model (still gorgeous!) and MT Robison, talented musician and songwriter, with a Hillbilly-Urban sound from the USA, are an unlikely pair to say the least.

But magic happened when the two strangers from across the pond were featured together on the popular website, Artists Exposed.

Alexandra took notice of MT's rugged but charming looks and then fell in love with his music. She contacted his manager for permission and photos to use as references for her painting.

When MT visited her website to see her work, he too fell in love and was "blown away" and honored that Alexandra-G was inspired to paint him as an "earth Angel."

High-quality prints of the stunning and almost life-size full-length oil painting of MT can be purchased on her website.

INTERVIEW WITH CHASE VON AT SOP - January 6, 2009

On Behalf of The Student Operated Press....

Chase Von, Interviews Eclectic Entertainer MT Robison!!!

Chase Von: Hey there MT! I want to thank you for squeezing this in your hectic schedule and sharing yourself with our readers here at the Student Operated Press!

My dear friend Tina Devaney told me to check you out and I always listen to Tina because she has excellent taste! Another one she turned me on to was music Singing Sensation Lisa Lavie! So when Tina speaks, The Last Panther listens!

I was actually coming home from the store earlier today and they were playing Lisa`s song "No One" on 94.5 FM here is So Cal! The show its self is hosted by none other than Kenny G but since I haven`t heard from Lisa in more than a minute now, and I know she is mad busy like yourself, I told T to let her know she`s on the air waves here as well! (Smile).

Now when I checked out your music, my first thought was, sounds a lot like James Taylor! Do you get that a lot and once again, thanks for finding the time to share yourself with us here at the SOP!

MT: Oh, it`s my pleasure and honor Chase! Well, I have had a few people tell me James Taylor but actually we asked Myspace friends that very question, and by far the answers were Bob Dylan and Tom Waits.

I think the Tom Waits comes from my live performance... I`m a little crazy like Tom on stage...Ha ha... Dylan, I don`t know, maybe the sound of my voice.
